Mistaken Identity

I just read a post about "biker profiling" and remembered a great story. It had been a long wet winter and the sun was finally out! The temperature was finally in the 50's and the roads were dry. My plan was to get off early and meet my husband - a postal clerk in the small town of Williams, Oregon and his father - a retired lawyer.

So the three of us - my husband on his BMW 1200-RT, Father -in-law on his Spyder and me, on my Harley Softtail Deluxe. My husband was in the lead as we took the twisty road from Medford to Phoenix, Oregon. We were probably doing a whopping speed of 40mph (speed limit 35). We were all connected with helmet coms and my Father-in-Law said "I think I'm getting pulled over, there is a cop behind me with his lights on".

As law abiding citizens we all slowed down to pull over. The police car passed him, then passed me and pulled my husband over. We all pulled over and by the time we had our helmets off, there were three police cars, lights ablaze, pulled over on both sides of the road. We were surrounded by the entire police force of Phoenix, Oregon.

Turns out, the speed limit had dropped the night before to 25mph and we had gotten caught in their dragnet for speeders. We were the first "bike gang" to go through so they were prepared!

We all laughed as their definition of the bike gang was a surgery nurse, a postal clerk and a retired lawyer.

Our new house

First Look - we had one day to look at houses. We had only one day to look at houses so we did a lot of online research and met with the realtor in the afternoon. This house was not on our list and a little over our price range. I fell in love at first sight! This was the first one I actually took pictures of. Three bedroom, two bath, three car garage. And only a block from a lake.
